Since it was too much effort for you to link to the plugin you were talking about in the issue itself, that is https://github.com/ReplayMod/preprocessor.
It's likely that preprocessor collects source roots in a way that does not preserve task dependencies. You could either fix that behavior in Preprocessor, or manually declare task dependencies in the appropriate tasks with dependsOn calls.
