Hi @mpassage2017 ,

  • You don't need to download Lazarus and sources.

  • To run the software in many computers:

    • Step 1. Copy and paste the files from one computer to another each time a new version is sent to you
    • Step 2. Then you can choose one of the computers to be the "server". In this computer, you will run an instance of the program as a "researcher". Take a note of the Local Network IP (not external IP) of the chosen computer. Lets say the IP of this server is 192.168.0.20
    • Step 3. All other computers will be"clients", each one running one instance of the program as a "participant". For each client, you must create a text file named IP in the same folder as the experiment_runner.exe file containing a single line with the server's IP, in this case 192.168.0.20.
    • Step 4. Now each client knows the IP address of the server. They can communicate with each other through the local network (intranet only, you don't need access to the internet). Then you can start the running routine.
  • Remember that for testing purposes, you only need one computer.

    • Step 3. All other folders will be"clients", each one running one instance of the program as a "participant". You can use "ALT+TAB" in the keyboard to alternate server/client windows.
    • Step 4. Now each client knows the IP address of the server. They can communicate with each other. Then you can start the running routine.
  • Your running routine will be:

    • Step 1. Start the server as a researcher
    • Step 2. Load the configuration file in the researcher instance.
    • Step 3. Start each client as a participant. Each time a participant is started, a dialog will pop up in the server so you be able to write the name of this participant.

Thank you! I'll be playing around with it today. I'll let you know how it goes and the questions I have.

I've run into my next issue. I copied and pasted the files into 4 folders (3 Lineages & 1 Experimenter). Then I ran the experimentrunner file from the Experimenter folder and then opened the config file. Next, I ran experimenterrunner for L1, L2, and L3 respectively. I also was able to enter the participant's names. I couldn't figure out the next step, specifically, I couldn't make choices.

Hi Michael. Please,

  1. Make sure all computers are connected to the same local network.

  2. If the server is not responding to client's requests, make sure each client have a file named IP containg a single line with the server's local IP address.
