Good catch. Marked as bug.

This is a problem. The input:

<element attrA="123456789.123456789" attrB="1001e9" />

When using %f, returns:

123456789.123457 and 1001000000.000000

Which is correct rounding, but annoying formatting. %g returns:

1.234567e9 and 1.001e9

Which is nice formatting, but a significant loss of precision. The result is the same from VS and gcc. A reading of the printf() man page implies this is the correct behavior: %g uses the shorter of %e or %f. But I think "the shorter of %e or %f without losing precision" would be a much better behavior.

I would very much like to know if there is a fix/workaround for this. Until then, we're stuck with %f.
