I have also encountered this problem. I remember that at the beginning, it was possible to use the prompt shortcut keys. Later, it stopped working.

I have tried the following:

1. Deleting the .config file, restarting, and rebuilding the prompt, no work;
2. Writing in the software and reinstalling it, no work;
3. Changing the installation path, no work.

Now I don't know what to do, and I hope this can be fixed.
When I saw that there are over 630 ISSUES, my mind was about to explode. Kudos to the author for all the hard work!!!

I think the problem is the creator has pretty much made this program EOL (End Of Life) and doesn't plan on providing any more updates as can be seen in the ReadMe.md file.

They recommend either using the official ChatGPT app or using his new project linked in the description.

You can kind of install ChatGPT on Windows now. If you go to Microsoft Edge, head to chatgpt.com, click the 3 dots in the top right corner of the browser, go to Apps in the context menu, and then click Install App. It will install it as a PWA on the desktop.

Also, if you don't mind manually copying the prompts into the chat, you can still use them. Maybe you can even create your own CustomGPT and upload the prompt file, then just ask it to be the person of whatever you type, for example, I want you to act as a poet and then it will fetch the poet prompt or something like that.
