This was proposed in #18, but it's impossible to implement (see #18 (comment)).

If you would be calling a single function in the managed code block, and if you need to do this to be able to specify backoff's parameters dynamically, here's another solution:

import backoff


def foo(baz, max_time):
    create_callable_with_retries = backoff.on_exception(
        lambda: backoff.constant(20), MyError, max_time=max_time
    )
    bar_with_retries = create_callable_with_retries(bar)
    return bar_with_retries(baz)


def bar(baz):
    ...


class MyError(Exception):
    ...

from backoff.

Well that's too bad. I guess I'll close it as there's nothing left to do

from backoff.
