@jwillemsen thanks for the suggestion! I'd be glad to receive a PR and merge such feature in, set by default to off, as the user has to explicitly to opt in intentionally to such behavior.
Please note that with such option set to on, it can easily break your build whenever vcpkg changes, and it goes against the principle to pin the dependencies to specific versions.
