The next version of Lune will have a roblox library which reimplements similar APIs to the ones found in Remodel, but with some ergonomics improvements. The reasons for reimplementing instead of integrating with Remodel itself are:
- External modules in
mluado not support Luau, so therobloxlibrary has to be a part of the main Lune project - Remodel is currently unmaintained and probably will be for the foreseeable future
The roblox library is locked behind a separate feature flag so if users don't need roblox-specific features and want a Lune binary that is as small as possible they can build from source using Cargo without enabling the feature.
It's most likely also better to keep package management as a separate issue and not so Roblox-specific which is why this issue has been renamed
from lune.
