Launching a container using lxc launch images:ubuntu/focal/cloud c2, and then running apt update inside of the container doesn't give me that error.

@marbetschar Does this happen every time? What are the exact steps to reproduce this issue?

@monstermunchkin it happens every time. Maybe my locally cached image is corrupt then? How do I force a redownload?

I did the exact same thing, and don't run into the error. My image's hash is 9c1933d418c3 (lxc image ls). You can run lxc image refresh <hash> (your hash) to update the image.
