Creating 10.7 NBI about autocaspernbi

Hi Tommy,

An OS.dmg is needed (the below is taken from https://macmule.com/autocaspernbi/#prerequisites).

OS.dmg

NBI’s created with AutoCasperNBI really should be created from a clean never booted Operating System disk image (read: OS.dmg).

Clean OS.dmg’s can be created via AutoDMG, Casper Admin or Composer (see “Building OS Packages” in the Casper Suite Administrator’s Guide.)

NOTE: Only use Composer in the case of forked builds. That is when Apple releases a “fork” of the OS for a new iteration of hardware.

Ben, I created 10.10.1 and 10.9 nbi sets perfectly this wkd, but I'm running into some trouble with 10.7. The error I get when I click "build" is "Error: failed to create netboot.dmg". No further details in log that I can tell. I downloaded the Lion installer from the app store, pulled the InstallESD.dmg file out and loaded that into AutoCasperNBI. Did I do something wrong here with Lion?

K, thx Ben for the quick response. I guess I cheated a bit with the InstallESD.dmg file! I couldn't get AutoDMG to work on Lion so I tried to cheat a little bit. Basically AutoDMG had a slash through the app on the Lion install and I tried some of the archived versions too. Did you get AutoDMG to produce a OS.app file from Lion for you?

Not sure why I would think the InstallESD.dmg was a clean OS install! I worked too much this wkd, my brain is in a fog. Working out my kinks with InstaDMG tonight since AutoDMG is 10.8 and up.

That's the problem with weekend working!

If you have a look at AutoDMG's release notes: https://github.com/MagerValp/AutoDMG/wiki/Release-Notes you can see that as of 1.5 10.7 support was removed.

So for 10.7 looks like 1.4.4 is the best bet, you can get that from: https://github.com/MagerValp/AutoDMG/releases

Spot on Ben, thx for pointing that out. Very helpful, got this 10.7 buttoned up today! I certainly owe you a beverage or 2 at JNUC next year.
