When I load the dawg file, it throws EOFExpcetion on line 20: units[i] = input.readInt() The dawg file is created like this (and also with other word lists): >>> import dawg >>> words =['a'] >>> d = dawg.DAWG(words) >>> d.save('a.dawg')

Sorry, I've only tested this code with the dawg generated with the C++ compiled binary, not the Python one. I assumed that they generate the exact same dawg, which should be the case. Have you checked for any newline issues? Here's my word list and its dawg. https://www.dropbox.com/s/wp4oavfldzgww02/TWL06LF.zip I used LF line endings. You can check whether the generated files are exactly the same.
