Hi mmontes, thanks for the response :) Unfortunately I'm not experienced writing Go, so I'm afraid I can't contribute. We will await this patiently then, keep up the good work!

The TLS support is yet very limited, as we describe here:
As you pointed out, the operator controller needs to be adapted so the resources that require a connection work properly. This will be tackled as part of:
Worth mentioning that TLS support is one of the next items in our roadmap
