Maybe get the dimensions of your table, and don't call the plugin if your table fits inside the available space? Or set height and/or width to 100% depending on your table dimensions...

I'd like to append my question here.

If not set the width of fixedHeaderTable, it means the table width will be 100% of its container. My question is how to trigger the HTML table resize automatically while the user changing width of the browser? Thanks.

you can resize your container by binding an event handler to the window resize event.

$(window).resize(function() {
// resize container
});
