Empirically confirmed (teardown side-by-side, 2026-06-06, CC 2.1.162): trace lines carry only lengths — `{"type":"thinking","length":0}`, `{"type":"tool_result","contentLength":243}`, `{"type":"text","length":9}`. Judges cannot re-read tool outputs or final text; reasoning is absent from the durable format. Fix: TraceWriter format v2 — additive content capture with `TraceContentMode { FULL, TRUNCATED, LENGTHS }`, default TRUNCATED (60KB/item). Content + `truncated` flag added alongside the existing canonical length fields; truncated tool_results carry a `source` pointer. Markov loader contract preserved (additive only, no renames).
