I'd personally be against this. My reason for this is because it creates another layer the C developer must learn. This could discourage seasoned C developers and makes it more difficult for new C developers.

I think we should wait, and try out Cello (in a branch) later if we think it could be useful. While I like using libraries/frameworks when they help to make code easier to write and maintain, it's also nice to not include a dependency that you don't need.
