PlayingGoogleAnalyticsDataViz

Packing a couple of inspiring Google Analytics visualizations within a R Shiny Dashboard.

I am sharing some examples of visualization I was playing with recently, using Google Analytics data. All visualizations are made with R and packed together in a Shiny Dashboard.

The dashboard I've made currently makes use of the following visualizations:

  • value boxes
  • dygraphs
  • bubble charts
  • streamgraphs
  • treemaps
  • bubbles

I am planning to add new inspiring visualizations not currently available in Google Analytics platform to better show web data.

For the dasboard source code check out the app.R file.

To get more info check out this post: http://www.analyticsforfun.com/2015/08/playing-with-r-shiny-dashboard-and.html

Note: I am having issues pushing the entire project from Rstudio to GitHub so the R environment is not available yet. Will hope to load it soon.

Format of the source data?

Hi, Interesting blog post and a script. However, can you tell what is the expected format for the source data , e.g. file 'DataSources_16Aug.RData ? I read the blog post, but maybe I missed the details. In the post you mention that you export specific data from Google Analytics as .csv, but in which order, which columns are needed etc.

(Haven't tried the script yet, it probably contains this info, but it would ease the usage if there would be some explanation of expected formats.)

Different files for ui.R and server.R

Thanks for your efforts. I would appreaciate different files for the main part os the dashboard. I want to focus on the "style" part of the code (i guess you haved used some css).

Gracias por tus esfuerzos. Te agradecería que subieras los códigos por separado, para poder analizar mejor el dashboard, principalmente la parte del estilo.
