I'm seeing the same and then it triggers an OOME

I've seen this in some cases as well. I'm not sure if it's the underlying native implementation or SBT that is at fault. There have been similar issues reported on node.js and ember as well.

Can you provide a build that reproduces the issue?

Upgrading sbt from 1.0.2 to 1.0.3 fixed this for me.

Yeah, I got it again after letting it run for some time as well.

I think it might depend on the MacOS version as well. It's been working for me on an older installation 10.9.5 and consistently fails on 10.13.1 beta with the same project.

It seems ok on 1.0.3 for me

After upgrading to MacOS 10.13.2 Beta it starting working for me, so I suspect it's really a problem on the native side.
