Now, it will choose x or y depending on what is smaller, like the Align function in the app.

The align functions are by each tool aren't they? I.e. align to top, middle
or bottom, left, middle or right? So there's no way to make it into 2
scripts and align by x, and align by y as seperates?

I am not sure I understand what you mean. But please, feel free to fork the repository (or copy the scripts) and make any changes you want.

Sorry, I wish I could unfortunately I have no programming skills. I was
wondering whether the distribute script could be separated into 2 scripts:
1 to distribute always horizontally, and the another always vertically,

The readme contains different installation instructions now. Should work without installing XCode now.
