Thanks for your report! Unfortunately, the version of F-Droid is very out of date.

What I think is happening for you is the same as #41: the card is dropping out of the reader's field, and then that results in a partial read of the card.

I made some changes, which are in v2.9.35 and later, which make it not give you back errors like this (and instead, report a "partial card read"). Getting on the current version should make the issue "less bad".

I see this with most of my FeliCa cards (the card media used by most Japanese transit cards) -- they seem to be particularly susceptible to dropping out. I'm not sure whether this is caused by an issue with my code. I have added some more detail about the current status of FeliCa reading in #41.
