From a medical point of view, paralysis (plegia) refers to a complete loss of ocular muscle function/movement (inablity to move the eyes at all), whereas paresis means weakness, reduction of the ability to move the eyes. Partial ophthalmoplegia is a term like partial pregnancy and should probably be avoided (there is no further specification of meaning compared to ophthalmoparesis). Although logically speaking every paralysis is also a paresis, I am not sure that this reflects clinical reality, and it may be better to use the first of the above two options.

I agree with the previous comment. These terms should remain siblings. However, I don’t see the need for a grouping term that includes only these two terms as children.

I also checked other existing loss of strength and paralysis terms in the MP; I’ve made some minor corrections such that these are consistently placed.

Thanks! Looks like HP should change rather than MP.

The reason to make the grouping term would be that there is presumably some phenotypic similarity beyond the current superclass. However, there is no need to add this as we can essentially get this grouping using MP-XP
