Hi, quick heads-up in case this isn't already on your radar. OpenAI is shutting down `gpt-image-1` on October 23, 2026. It looks like generative-ai-for-beginners still uses it, where the lesson code calls images.generate with it. It's still there on the default branch as of October 1: [`09-building-image-applications/python/oai-app.py:23`](https://github.com/microsoft/generative-ai-for-beginners/blob/d8ec07e31c4b32bd283d565c1abd9b58bb5cf2e8/09-building-image-applications/python/oai-app.py#L23) OpenAI's replacement is `gpt-image-2`. There's still time, but the provider sets the date and it won't move. How I found it: I maintain [DocsWatcher](https://github.com/jameskomo/docswatcher), an open source scanner that checks code against the deprecation notices providers publish. I ran it over the 50 most-starred repos tagged `openai`. Most of what it turns up is model names sitting in lists and price tables, which don't break anything, so I set those aside and read every hit in real code myself before opening anything. This one looked like a real call to me, but you know your code and I don't, so if I've got it wrong just say so and I'll close this. Nothing to adopt here. I just thought you'd want to know.
