after executing 'exit' command, no other commands can be run about vscode-mongodb

Good catch. Current playground accepts all commands. I think we should make it smart. In this case we can close the window??

Yah closing the window should prompt to save

I'd prefer if exit is simply ignored rather than having the side effect of closing the editor.
