I'm not from the staff, but since BC v.15 there is a new Codeunit that might help you:

Thanks. I'll keep this in mind when we move to 15, we are currently held back at 13 because of our ISV.

As far as I remember, TempBlob still works on BC13 it's just flagged as going inactive... Something like this
