Thanks for finding this @rlaurb!

When you found the issue, were you using version 0.1.2 of the pod or 0.1.3? I made some changes in 0.1.3, including changing respondsToSelector:@selector(setAutoFocusRangeRestriction:) to isAutoFocusRangeRestrictionSupported, that might fix the issue.

Would you mind trying 0.1.3 to see if it works on your iPad? The oldest model I have is an iPad 3. If you're still encountering this issue, I'll work your solution into scanner - it's slightly different from mine in that it checks isFocusModeSupported: instead of isAutoFocusRangeRestrictionSupported

Mike,

I’m pleased to report that 0.1.3 works correctly on my iPad2.

You’ve been really busy lately — I was using 0.1.1, which I downloaded on Feb 12th from the CocoaPods site. So you’ve come out with two updates in the last week.

In any case, yours is one of the first barcode scanner modules that work on the iPad2; most others decide that they don’t want to even try to work on a device that doesn’t support autoFocus. And since your interface is also very straightforward, I look forward to including it in the app I’m currently working on. [The application is scanning the ISBN barcode on the back cover of many newer books, so we can get information on the book from the Library of Congress catalog and auto-fill information about it.]

I'm glad to hear it's working for you now! You're right - I've been extremely busy pushing out updates since the module released a week ago. I received a few emails from people experiencing the same problem running the library on an iPad 2, so I pushed out a quick fix.

Thanks for reporting this, and if you find any more issues please let me know!
