Here's an outline for configuring pre-commit hooks for prettier:
https://prettier.io/docs/en/precommit.html, the lint-staged/husky approach is something I've used in the past, and has worked out well.
This requires you to have prettier installed, installation instructions here - installing locally is probably the best approach to take here since global installation may run into stale versions after a certain period of time.
