I just ran pod update and am still experiencing the same thing. Digging into it a bit, it looks like it is matching the following case and therefore the block is never called

            case '^':
                if (strcmp(sig.methodReturnType, "^v") == 0)
                    return PMKNull;
                // else fall through!

whereas if the block doesn't return anything (void) it matches this case

            case 'v':
                if (nargs > 1) {
                    void (^block)(id) = frock;
                    block(result);
                } else {
                    void (^block)(void) = frock;
                    block();
                }
                return PMKNull;
