myusuf3 avatar myusuf3 commented on September 26, 2024

@kurojishi @fatbird how are you guys install vim7.4 on osx?

from numbers.vim.

fatbird avatar fatbird commented on September 26, 2024

Straight configure/make/sudo make install, followed by moving /usr/bin/vim and replacing it with a symlink to /usr/local/bin/vim.

In 7.4 line numbering works in combinations - see:

:he number_relativenumber

You need to set in your function NumbersRelativeOff()

set nornu
set nu

from numbers.vim.

olivierverdier avatar olivierverdier commented on September 26, 2024

@elemel21 Thanks! In fact, using set nu and set rnu pretty much renders the numbers plugin obsolete. Thanks to @myusuf3 for all the hard work though!

kgrz avatar kgrz commented on September 26, 2024

@myusuf3 the set number thing does work on vim 7.4. I guess you can add that to the instructions area :)
