Overriding terminal cursor color about onedark.nvim

If it's relevant, the value I have for guicursor is guicursor=n-v-c-sm:block,i-ci-ve:ver25,r-cr-o:hor20

Upon further investigation my cursor color is probably being inherited from my terminal theme, although I did try setting
vim.g.onedark_disable_terminal_colors = true
before calling setup() and this did not fix the issue. Is there any other way to force neovim to use onedark's recommended color scheme instead of the terminal's?

I think in most cases vim and neovim can't change terminal cursor color, you should change it from your terminal's configuration
What terminal are you using?
