As can be seen in this screenshot, the version that fails to upload is the one with a byte-order mark

@dodumosu tested your patch for this issue and I can't seem to be able to get the app to now display the mapped columns

@dodumosu While this works for csv files, it appears that there's still a slight issue with xls files.

@takinbo re: your comment on Excel files, I haven't yet found a way to extract the encoding of the Excel files. I read that [Excel 97+ stores text as UTF-16] (http://xlrd.readthedocs.io/en/latest/unicode.html), so we should conceptually have no problems, but I've not yet come up with a solution.
