They are merely aliases.
Latin1 is a nickname for ISO8859-1, and while Win1252 isn't exactly the
same as ISO8859-1(but a superset), software (developers) use the terms
interchangeably.

Yes, but so does toISO8859() and toLatin1().
I think that it's better to encode them in Win1252 than to lose them, just
in case your software happen to speak the Win1252 idiom.
