Can you please provide a minimum reproduction repository with the docker-compose.yml file so we can locally start a database to test the integration? Also, did you follow this example: https://github.com/nestjs/nest/tree/master/sample/07-sequelize?

Good catch @jmcdo29! I haven't noticed logger: false. Please, enable it to see a verbose output (error message)

Looking at the setup, it's probably not paused, but crashed. Nest doesn't exit on crash but rather hangs and logs the error. However, as you have logger: false you won't see the error and it will just seem like a hang/pause. If you provide a docker-compose like Kamil said, we can investigate further, though I'd suggest first setting logger: true

For me SequelizeModule.forRoot was not creating the tables and autoLoadModels: true (as mentioned in example) solved my issue.

Idk how it was working before w/o autoLoadModels: true
