Servo is the library we use at Netflix for collecting and exposing metrics.
It deals with things like timers, counters, gauges, and many variations of
the above. It makes those available through JMX for debugging, and it
provides a framework that we use for reporting those metrics to our
internal monitoring and alerting frameworks. It doesn't deal at all with
writes. For controlling and configuring our apps we use

Servo is meant to be a monitor, and provides a very easy facility for
developers to add the ability for a member field to be monitored. But what
about the other half of JMX? IE a write operation like "flushCache()" or
"setValue()" ... does Servo have a story around this? Does NetFlix have a
story around this?

Thanks.
