I think it should be $logVerbosity if it will be configurable as @dg suggested. $logVerbose would be fine for boolean switch.

Another possibility is to log all errors when strictMode is enabled.

But they are still logged.

But hundreds lines in error log can be ignored with grep. Exception files with notices can not be ignored so easily.
