Also, it took almost two weeks to receive a reply that basically amounted to "use the table reference". I realize that @ngduc owes users absolutely nothing and has his own work to do and could have been busy or on vacation, etc. However, it does reduce faith that users might have in a library that they are considering tying into long-term production software when (1) a basic and widely utilized feature is not readily documented and (2) the response time is very long when asking about such a basic feature.
Either way, thank you both for your work. I plan to use Tabulator for most of my web projects in the foreseeable future, but I also plan to "use the table reference".

@jbcksfrt you can get the "table" reference (ref) like:
https://github.com/ngduc/react-tabulator/blob/master/src/ReactTabulatorExample.tsx#L72
and use it as described in Tabulator Doc. Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks for the reply. I don't mean to sound unappreciative, but if we need to use the reference to handle basic tasks, I don't see the point of using this library in the first place. Maybe I'm missing something? Either way, shortly after I posted this I just used the tabulator reference directly just so I could keep going.

Hey @jbcksfrt
react-tabulator is a wrapper around Tabulator to make it easier to integrate with react environments, therefore the Tabulator website contains the documentation for the table generation functionality (provided by Tabulator) while the wrapper makes it easier to add into your react project.
Cheers
Oli :)

Thank you for the information. Thanks significantly more for Tabulator and the good documentation it provides. I found it easier to get my React project finished using Tabulator directly rather than this React wrapper. That does not mean everyone will of course. Maybe it is due to differences in documentation between Tabulator proper and this React component. I don't mean to offend, just offering a data point.

I hoped for searching to be handled by the React component directly. It is not, and apparently a lot of other stuff is not either, so I asked what the purpose of the component really is. I don't plan to help because I don't plan to use it at this time.

@jbcksfrt
then just ask for its purpose from the beginning. no need to bring up other things like questioning about commitment, support level, etc.
sure anybody can use a js lib directly, once you duplicate that setup in multiple files, you'll see different team member use it differently. Then you'll decide to write your common wrapper for your team. If you can help with a pr or idea to improve this, I'll appreciate that.

If you refer to the first comment in this thread (the purpose and beginning), you will see I did exactly that. I asked about a feature. Then the conversation wandered a bit as new information was added, as they sometimes do.

Closing this as I'm not able to offer a solution for this request at this time. Thanks.
