iOS does not antialias the edges of views by default for performance reasons. You can enable this by adding the UIViewEdgeAntialiasing property to your info.plist, but it will have a performance impact across your app.

If it's a problem, there are some solutions suggested here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2686027/iphone-calayer-rotate-in-3d-antialias - basically you need to draw your carousel view content inside a slightly larger view that has a 1px or more border around the edge so that the edges of the content will be smoothed.

As for the reflection - this isn't built into iCarousel. In the demo, the carousel view images already include a reflection in the image. You can do the same, or if you need to reflect dynamic content then you can do a trick by adding a second transformed copy of your item views and applying a layer mask. You should be able to find a tutorial on how to do this if you google for it.
