Normally the current WiFi configuration is saved by the Android system and the reconnect should happen naturally after enabling the WiFi. So when the AP gets disabled maybe WiFi is disabled as well? If that is the case, simply enabling WiFi again should fix the problem.

WiFi gets disabled automatically when the AP gets enabled. Then, when the AP gets disabled, the WiFi does not get re-enabled.

The developer could simply re-enable it via the WifiManager after disabling the AP. The 'old' wifi state could also be memorized in this utitlity class, but i don't think that's neccessary. But it would be great if you could add this behaviour inside the description of the Methods if you want.

@nickrussler , thank you for the reference. I'm new to Android development and going to use your class to manage portable access point. I'll have to re-enable WiFi if a certain client is not connected to the AP for a given period of time.
