Stefan, I'll have more time in this month to check and follow up. Please, share your improvement here or via a pull request. Can we have a practical example here? Did you have a look at the https://github.com/NikosAlexandris/i.landsat8.swlst/blob/master/test_column_water_vapor.py? It'll be nice to improve the test (and I'm looking further to make use, if possible, of GRASS' test framework!).

Stefan, are you sure the function doesn't work as expected? In my test
function, linked above, I added (locally for now) in the string representation of the Column_Water_Vapor
class, the size of the window. Just copy-pasting a randomely generated example here:

Unless I don't see where the unwanted behaviour is.

This https://github.com/NikosAlexandris/i.landsat8.swlst/blob/master/test_column_water_vapor.py#L39 is inside the test. Hardcoded 3
to have small windows while testing. I'll change that too, to have random window sizes (albeit, between 7 and 21).
