Try downloading YARA again. During a brief period of time there was a buggy
build of YARA 1.5 available for download which had this bug. The version
available now should be ok.

I downloaded the currently available version (yara-1.5.tar.gz), rebuilt and
tested, and the problem has been corrected. Thanks!
FWIW, the SHA1 of the broken version of the source tarball is
