Did you compile it yourself? The git version does not include the API tokens.

Also, I've made the error message a little less silly.

Why dont you include the api keys in the source code?
And why dont you provide a way to get a custom api key?

Yep, I compiled it myself. The Arch Linux version from the OpenSUSE build service had the same problem, so I just tried the git version afterwards.

Is there a way to include a personal API key? I'd really like to test the latest builds and report bugs wherever I can :)

You can fill out this form https://screencloud.net/oauth/register and you'll get a set of API keys sent to your email address.

I don't include the keys in the source code because I want to be able to differentiate between the "official" builds and self-compiled ones.

Is sharing this key allowed?
So I could include it e.g. in the screencloud-git AUR package?

Sure, It's just to let me differentiate where the API call is coming from.

Thanks!

Also, itd be nice if youd link to that api key registration somewhere on the homepage e.g. in user settings :)

Okay, it seems like the issue was caused by my mail address. After changing it (it had the + character in it before) I can log in just fine in the client (which has now been recompiled with an API key).

The + in the email address should work. Were you able to login with it in previous versions?

Closing this since the screenshot hosting service has been shut down.
