You are right. Docker container should start in nointeractive (default) mode.

Here's a quick and ugly way to get it to work without -i
Tested and works on ECS and K8s

heads up- ** needs
shopt -s globstar
added to be enabled, otherwise it behaves as a *. It's also a bash4ism, something to keep in mind for portability.
