I think it's a bug, but I'm currently a bit too busy to look into this.

I have a workaround for others who may find this: Tap the notification to go to the Remote Keyboard test page. Tap in the text field, then pull down the notification drawer and use the keyboard selector to choose your normal keyboard. The Remote Keyboard notification should disappear.

Oh, I forgot about this. I had it all fired up in intellij at one point. I really might have tried to fix it if the stars had aligned differently. I've since lost interest. I'm glad there's a workaround though.
