Plymouth runs , but ISCSI hangs the boot, if the service were a after login delayed start option
it would not be so catastrophic

You need to post to the [email protected] list for help with open-iscsi issues. There are gentoo maintainers on the list, so they can help.

open-iscsi does not really control how distros integrate it, so if the issue is there I can modify the open-isccsi code to better help distros, but other than that it is out of my control.

Post to the list, so we can get more people involved.

ok np , Sabayon is a blend of/variant Gentoo , however it's always bleeding edge.
I have no qualms using ISCSI , however enabling at boot time of late has been the kiss of death to boot up. letting the boot goto Login: and then in background load it then as a delayed start up and standard background service.

However if you make SystemD services files that on boot , DO N times , fail..... once login: is up I can fix and or manually run a service re-start.
or a delayed start-up service.... I will gleefully test them.
