I just re-tested the current command line
$ helm install my-prometheus --repo https://prometheus-community.github.io/helm-charts prometheus --namespace prometheus --create-namespace --set prometheus-pushgateway.enabled=false --set alertmanager.enabled=false -f https://raw.githubusercontent.com/opencost/opencost/develop/kubernetes/prometheus/extraScrapeConfigs.yaml
NAME: my-prometheus
LAST DEPLOYED: Sun Sep 10 22:46:03 2023
NAMESPACE: prometheus

NOTES:
The Prometheus server can be accessed via port 80 on the following DNS name from within your cluster:

Get the Prometheus server URL by running these commands in the same shell:
export POD_NAME=$(kubectl get pods --namespace prometheus -l "app.kubernetes.io/name=prometheus,app.kubernetes.io/instance=my-prometheus" -o jsonpath="{.items[0].metadata.name}")
kubectl --namespace prometheus port-forward $POD_NAME 9090

I'm using Helm 3.12.3, which appears to be the latest stable release. Is it possible that's a cause?

@mattray @SaschaJohn a quick Google search led me to this page: https://prometheus-community.github.io/helm-charts/ where they add as prometheus-community
. Is using this naming the issue?
