Facebook and Twitter links about openraweb

I added them at http://moddb.com/games/openra some time ago. However adblock privacy extensions will block them anyway and I don't really know where to place them here. Maybe http://open-ra.org/news/ on the right hand side?

Not really convinced yet. Maybe bottom and somehow skinned to match the theme as http://ti.ppmsite.com/ did.

If we had appropriate art (low contrast outlines, which fill in with color on hover) then these could fit well to the left of the logo on the header bar.

What I had in mind was similar to the first one, but larger, vertically centered, and using light grey instead of red (which has too much contrast against the background).

I prefer this one over the grey one, it's prettier imo (especially with the shadow).

I bypassed adblock plus by:

• removing direct URLs (I now use javascript redirections)
• modifying images filenames (twi-hidden.png instead of twitter-hidden.png)
• removing alt="Twitter" (but I keep title="Twitter")

I'd rather this wasn't built with bypassing adblock in mind, I'm sure users with such extensions are used to the page content being modified in unintended ways.

Also, it reduces the ability of crawlers to index the page.

My "hack" only makes possible to have social links on the front page. It doesn't disable Adblock Plus at all.

I think @alzeih means if people opt-in to not wish facebook links everywhere on websites, we should respect their decision to not see those instead of trying to workaround those blacklists.

@pchote: The only icon that is not really nice-looking is the Desura one.
I am currently redoing it but the SVG file (des-icon.svg) has a rendering bug.
