karma & jasmine is a simple combination, need to replace as many of the demo/ files as possible. Then, move the demo/ files into test/manual/ next to test/unit/ to indicate what must continue to be manually tested.
default gulp task should run gulp test or gulp tdd while developing new features so that feedback in instant when something breaks.

To test:
- validation as a string in an attribute
- validation as a var passed from controller
- validation rule change reflected?
- min length
- max length
etc.
