Authentication failure about vagrant-openshift

This does indeed turn out to be a vagrant issue that I have not run into earlier because I only used password authentication, not key-based authentication.

The problem appears to be specific to Vagrant 1.8.5 and after upgrading to the latest version (1.8.7) and recreating the VM with vagrant destroy and then again vagrant up it's working as expected.

The lines you see here:

    default: Vagrant insecure key detected. Vagrant will automatically replace
    default: this with a newly generated keypair for better security.

Are Vagrant logic, not vagrant-openshift logic. It looks like the Vagrant core failed to correctly place the generated key on the VM. Can you check that you have the following:
