After making a “Bad” Metronome using setInterval, I found a collection of articles online about how to tackle this. The first by https://github.com/notwaldorf and the second by https://github.com/grantjames. After a lot of head-scratching and timeline drawings the penny dropped on how this approach actually works. A big thanks goes out to Grant James for pointing me in the direction of another article by Chris Wilson https://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/audio/scheduling/ which helped to put things all together.

There is also an admin view where more items can be added to the store's inventory. Lastly, there is a shopping cart feature to create a total of the items that have been added to the cart. The next stage would be to improve the experience of viewing the product images when viewing and individual item.
