Email for primary emergency contact is required and will stay as a required field. It is used for communication from the school and also for password retrieval. In today's world it is easy to signup for a free email with popular services.
If a parent does not want to sign up for an email just put a fake entry like [email protected]

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. But this is not true for everyone. In our context most student parents do not have email nor Internet access.
