Hi!
There is no helpers to perform an unsubscribe
action (probably, we should add one). You can try to do the following:
require "rails_helper"
RSpec.describe EchoChannel, type: :channel do
it "subscribes and unsubscribed" do
subscribe
expect(subscription).to be_confirmed
# that's the way to perform an `unsubscribe` command
subscription.unsubscribe_from_channel
end
end
Btw, what is your use-case? What do you want to test?

Got it!
Thanks for the example!

Thank you for your quick response!
subscription.unsubscribe_from_channel
is correctly operated.
I tried to test below situation.
When user subscribed room, user.room is that room. And, if user unsubscribed room, user.room is nil.
Although it may be clumsy, it is faster for you to see the code
module ApplicationCable
class Connection < ActionCable::Connection::Base
identified_by :current_user
~~~
end
end
class RoomChannel < ApplicationCable::Channel
def subscribed
@room = Room.find(params[:room_id])
stream_for @room
current_user.room = @room
current_user.save
end
def unsubscribed
current_user.room = nil
current_user.save
end
~~~
end
require 'test_helper'
class RoomChannelTest < ActionCable::Channel::TestCase
test "user.room equals nil when unsubscribed" do
user = User.find(1)
stub_connection(current_user: user)
subscribe room_id: 1
assert subscription.confirmed?
user = User.find(1)
assert_not_nil user.room
subscription.unsubscribe_from_channel
user = User.find(1)
assert_nil user.room
end
~~~
end
