It would be nice to extract certain parts of the map for internal and external re-use (characters, layouts, lighting, etc.). Referring to blocks by name and merging parts of files into other files would be awesome. Furthermore, the current format doesn't seem too user-friendly: too many unnecessary quotation marks.

• Evaluate use of yaml and other format standards
• Evaluate merging and block referencing strategies
• Introduce versioning

JSIso's lighting is awkward and brittle. We should re-write this part of the rendering pipeline.

Engine state should be serializable and thus, engine-based loading and saving does not seem to be too complicated.
