👋 Hello folks

My name is Jane (E) Pavlova and I'm a software developer. I'm currently located in Northern Virginia (possible relocate to Boston, Massachusetts).

Ever since I graduated with an engineering degree, I have been doing part-time development while in other roles in software production. Now I'd like to switch to a 🤖 full-time developer/engineer position.

A good bunch of the engineering tasks I performed for multiple years in my business system analyst and technical product owner roles. For instance, relational databases design and T-SQL, RESTful API design and testing, usage of version control (Git/GitHub), CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), Docker, writing of test cases and test scenarios (using BDD and traditional approach), code documentation (e.g. with UML and requirements hooks) and requirements elicitation and management, etc, etc.

I took some significant time this year to do some full-time professional education to enhance on the topics I worked with already: like Docker, AWS EC2 and storages, lambdas, and advanced computer science (algorithms and data structures).

🚀 Technologies and tools

Development Python, Java, CSS, HTML | Flask, Django, FastAPI, Ninja, Apache, BeautifulSoup, SwaggerServer, Requests | GitHub Tests TDD (Pytest), BDD (Gherkin, Behave) CI/CD Jenkins, GitHub Actions DevOps Docker, Grafana, YAML Cloud AWS EC2, S3, lambda Databases MS SQL, Postgres, SQLite, MySQL Unix Linux, Shell Tools Postman, JIRA, SwaggerHub, Confluence Agile Scrum, Kanban, SAFe Other UML, Open API 3.0, JSON, XML etc.

🔥 Currently working on and with

I'm currently working part-time for a European IT R&D Startup - started with well-known API tasks for data processing - we enhancing it to be consumed by more external APIs of engineering software (like Tekla, Revit, and more). I also looking forward to working on IoT open protocols and data collection to integrate with Building Information Modeling (BIM).

🌱 Currently learning

In the middle of learning some serious AI, started with CS50’s Introduction to Artificial Intelligence with Python. This course explores the concepts and algorithms at the foundation of modern artificial intelligence, diving into the ideas that give rise to technologies like game-playing engines, handwriting recognition, and machine translation. Also, I'm deepening my knowledge in Java and bash programming.

⚡ Some fun

As a true Pythonista, I'm also a big fan of Monthy Python anything. So I have created a tribute API in their honor with a CLI and some data-scrapping involved. Now we can enjoy the best quotes from their masterpieces (with a bit of remarkable work with dependencies under the hood of the server 🤓).

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best
